Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children enrolled in the Campus Recreation Department’s 8-week summer camp program, June 15th- August 19th, 2026 (dates include training weeks).
Duties/Responsibilities
ParticipantSafetyandSupervision (60%)Maintains constant surveillance of youth participants; working to ensure their safety and well-being. ImplementsCampusRecreationriskmanagementprocedures.Providesroutineand/oremergencycareand treatment as needed until the arrival of emergency medical personnel (if necessary), including incident and accident reports.
ProgramPlanningandActivityImplementation (10%)Preparesandimplementscreativeandinnovativeactivitiesforyouth participants.
ProgramOperationsSupport (15%)Performsvariousdutiesasdirectedtoassistinthedailyoperationofyouthprograms,including earlydrop-off/late pick-up, attendance, etc.
StaffDevelopmentandCollaboration (10%)Attendsandparticipatesinmonthlystaffmeetingsandpre-programtraining sessions.
Administrative Tasks(5%):Completesincidentandaccidentreportsas required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Previous experience working with youth in grades K- 8.
Employment contingent of the successful completion of a background check and the following training: USNH Protection of Minors, ‘CPR, AED & First-Aid’, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handling, and Risk Management training.
Strong Supervision and Safety AwarenessAbility to maintain constant vigilance and ensure the safety and well-being of youth participants in a variety of settings.
Program Implementation and CreativityKnowledge of planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities while fostering a fun and inclusive environment.
Risk Management and Emergency Response SkillsFamiliarity with risk management procedures, with the ability to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations, including administering basic first aid.
Effective Communication and Team CollaborationStrong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
