Job Location: Camp ELK Wrightwood area - Wrightwood, CA 92397
Position Type: Seasonal
Salary Range: $17.81 - $20.45 Hourly

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, flexible, and service-oriented individuals for seasonal Camp Support Staff positions.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing support in a variety of tasks and programs across camp. This role is a profound opportunity to directly impact the lives of the communities we serve by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. The Camp Support Staff role will help to create a smooth, welcoming camp atmosphere by stepping in whenever needed to support daily camp life by ensuring the camp community feels connected and supported.
Location: YMCA Camp E.L.K. in Wrightwood, CA
Work Schedule: Seasonal position. Looking for staff who are available to work from May through August.
Purpose and Impact:
- Champion Camper Success:
- - Assist across camp programs, activities, and daily routines to help campers feel safe, included, and ready for fun. Provide reliable support whether helping in cabins, during meals, or throughout camp activities to ensure every camper has a positive and memorable experience.
- Promote Safety & Well-Being:
- - Maintain safe, clean, and hazard free environments by monitoring environments, reinforcing boundaries, and following YMCA and ACA (American Camp Association) safety standards. Support healthy camper habits and respond attentively to potential concerns.
- Lead With Integrity & Community Spirit:
- - Model honesty, respect, responsibility, and professionalism in every interaction. Uphold camp expectations through dependable teamwork, strong communication, and consistent support for campers and staff throughout each day.
- Support Camp Operations:
- - Contribute to smooth camp wide functioning by assisting with program setup, maintenance task, food service, errands, and other needs as they arise. Stay adaptable and ready to help wherever needed to keep camp running effectively.

Minimum

Qualifications:
- Minimum Age: 18+ years.
- Certification & Skills:
- - First Aid and CPR Certification (will be able to obtain during summer camp staff training).
- - Experience working with youth preferred.
- - Ability to aid in facilitating an empowering organized program through teaching, encouragement, and support.
- - Ability to apply behavior management techniques to ensure a caring, positive, and fun experience for all campers (as covered in staff training).
