Location: YMCA Camp Pine Crest, Torrance, Ontario (Transportation to camp is available at the beginning and end of the summer)

Work Hours: Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday – Sunday, with days off predetermined by supervisor

YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. After taking part in our programs, children and youth return home more confident, independent, and with new friendships. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.

The Camp Office Staff provides administrative and customer service support to ensure the smooth operation of camp activities. This position assists with communication, mail distribution, camper transportation, and managing the camp store while keeping records and systems organized. The role also updates camp platforms and supports staff, volunteers, campers, and families to ensure a positive and efficient experience for all, demonstrating enthusiasm and dedication to delivering a high level of customer service.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate arrival and departure days, manage phone calls and general email correspondence, and oversee the distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail
• Upload photos and updates to BUNK1, order office supplies, coordinate camper packages, manage the camp store (including petty cash and restocking merchandise), and oversee postcards and birthday cards
• Coordinate bus pick-up and drop-off schedules with bus marshals to ensure efficient transportation logistics
• Build and maintain positive relationships with campers, staff, volunteers, and families to support a welcoming and connected camp community
• Act as a positive role model for participants and fellow staff by demonstrating YMCA values and adhering to YMCA camp guidelines, policies, procedures, and Ontario Camps Association standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

You bring:

• Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification by the first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of the contract
• Experience in an office administration setting considered an asset
• Valid driver’s license considered an asset
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment and independently to achieve optimal collective results
• Experience working in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to change
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, required
• Minimum 18 years old by the start of the contract
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
