Job Description

The Camp Manager is responsible for training, supporting and equipping field staff to successfully execute FCA Camps through effective systems, processes, and resources. This role cultivates strong relationships with field staff leading camps and serves as the organizational expert in the FCA Camp management system(s). The Camp Manager exists to drive operational excellence and support the strategic growth and impact of FCA Camps as a catalyst for all FCA programmatic development.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission, and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

System Management

  • Operate the current camp registration systems.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Support Services, Technology, Marketing, Ministry Advancement, and other departments to execute for the field.
  • Provide strategic direction to, and from, the field for strengthening current systems and designing improved future systems.

Consultation and Support

  • Serve as a consultant to field staff, providing guidance on camp development.
  • Ensure camp directors are strategically and tactically using camps for catalytic ministry integration
  • Offer ongoing support and resources to field staff.
  • In partnership with the EVP of Camps and the Regional Directors of Sport, this role helps drive the execution and expansion of camps around the globe; offering guidance, resources, and operational support to foster growth and sustainability.

Program Expertise

  • Develop a deep understanding of the FCA Camp models to effectively communicate its benefits and opportunities to staff, churches, coaches, volunteers, and athletes.
  • Stay updated on program developments and best practices to provide accurate and relevant information.

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate to develop and implement strategies for strengthening and expanding camps around the globe.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of external partner relationships and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop alongside EVP of Camps, EVP of International Sport, and others the tools, resources, and training for the expansion and sustainability of international camp ministry.

Training and Development

  • Create and implement training content for new camp directors.
  • Improve and update knowledge articles, handbooks, and resources for continued development of camps.
  • Play a leading role in design, development, and delivery of camp school.
  • Ensure all training materials are aligned with FCA's mission and values.

Promotion and Representation

  • Represent FCA Camps at various conferences and events.
  • Act as an ambassador of FCA, embodying the organization's values and mission.
COMPETENCIES
  • Proven experience in project management and overseeing multiple ongoing projects.
  • Strong understanding of event planning and coordination with excellence.
  • Ability to manage time and assimilate priorities to department and organizational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as necessary for training, camp visits, and conferences.
  • Passion for sports and a commitment to the mission of FCA.
EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Theology, Sports Management, Business Administration).
  • Experience working with sports programs or ministries.
  • Comfort in managing and learning necessary technology, tools, and systems.
  • Knowledge of FCA Camp ministry and objectives.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or advisory role within a church or Christian organization.
