Job Description

  1. PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with safety and cleanliness of program sites
  • Maintain professionalism at all times with families/youth and mindfulness of boundaries
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by illustrating pride in job, enthusiasm and cooperation with co-workers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize needs
  • Submit a quarterly maintenance report and document any safety/health concerns to supervisor
  • Assist with efforts for efficient and cost-effective methods of housekeeping, energy conservation and maintenance
  • Respond to maintenance needs via an electronic ticketing system
  • Schedule appointments with various vendors on an as needed basis
  • Respond to emergency situations in support/collaboration program management
  • Flexible hours and on-call
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as needed
  • Responsibilities specific to Family Services sites:
    • Maintain the safety, security and cleanliness of all buildings and grounds
    • Collaborate with team regarding resident moves for room readiness vacancies
    • Accepts and distributes food/clothing donations throughout program and community
    • Maintains vans and appliances
    • Daily check of maintenance logs at all buildings
    • Assist with weather-related tasks including but not limited to shoveling and snow blowing
  • Other duties as assigned by the Building Superintendent.

  • Monitor the upkeep of major appliances
  • Purchase needed supplies
  • Maintain a healthy living environment
  1. INTERDIVISIONAL/COMMUNITY/VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide support for other programs of the Old Colony Y on an as needed basis.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduate.
  • 3 years’ experience of related experience or equivalent training.
  • Must be an insured and licensed driver able to travel for transportation to vendor appointments and community pickups.
  • Able to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, shovel, go up and down stairs throughout the day

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old by June 1
  • Ability to create a well-maintained and friendly environment
  • Maintenance staff is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the entire camp grounds
  • Up-to-date physical and immunizations (Same as required for school).
  • Strong communication skills: ability to read, write, talk, see, and hear.
  • Ability to lead age-appropriate games and activities.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness are highly valued!
