HELP US BUILD THE BEST SUMMER EVER!

Are you handy, energetic, and love spending time outdoors? We're looking for a Summer Camp Maintenance Person to help keep our camp running smoothly and looking its best all summer long (June 22- August 26, 2026)!

About the Role:

  • Guide and inspire campers aged 4-15
  • Summer program runs from June 22nd to August 28th, with additional mandatory training days (branch dependent)
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday (no weekends), with shifts from 8:45 to 4:15PM with the opportunity for extra hours

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement: 16 years old by June 1st
  • Ability to create a well-maintained and friendly environment
  • Maintenance staff is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the entire camp grounds
  • Up-to-date physical and immunizations (Same as required for school)
  • Strong communication skills: ability to read, write, talk, see, and hear
  • Ability to lead age-appropriate games and activities
  • Creativity and resourcefulness are highly valued!

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilities Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on buildings, cabins, and common areas
    • Address plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues as needed (within skill level)
    • Report larger repair needs to maintenance leadership
  • Groundskeeping
    • Maintain camp grounds including mowing, trimming, and clearing walkways
    • Keep outdoor areas safe, clean, and visually appealing
    • Assist with seasonal tasks such as opening/closing camp
  • Cleaning & Upkeep
    • Ensure restrooms, activity spaces, and shared facilities are clean and stocked
    • Assist with trash removal and recycling
    • Maintain overall cleanliness of camp property
  • Equipment Management
    • Inspect and maintain camp equipment (sports gear, tools, etc.)
    • Set up and break down spaces for activities and events
    • Ensure proper storage and organization of supplies
  • Health & Safety
    • Follow all safety procedures and protocols
    • Respond promptly to maintenance-related safety concerns
    • Help maintain a hazard-free environment for campers and staff
  • Support Camp Operations
    • Assist other departments with setup and logistical needs
    • Respond to daily maintenance requests in a timely manner
    • Work collaboratively with camp staff and leadership

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older (preferred, or as required)
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general repairs)
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Previous maintenance, facilities, or landscaping experience
  • Experience working in outdoor environments
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions
