Summer Camp jobs with the Ann Arbor Y offer invaluable skill-building, leadership training, and enrichment opportunities in a fun high energy environment. Camp staff assist and lead groups of campers in various camp programs and activities each day. Camp staff are responsible for the general safety, development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in their group. Camp Staff will provide high quality educational and recreational experiences for participants that focus on the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our staff are the backbone of our summer programs here at the Y. We pride ourselves on giving staff an incredible amount of support during training and throughout the summer. Requirements

What qualifications do I need to be a Health Officer?

  • Maintains health for all of camp - uses camp medical standing orders and camp health officer training to guide decision making.
  • Maintains health log.
  • In charge of health room/cabinets/boxes.
  • Main person for serious first aid.
  • Provides consultations to staff: First Aid as needed.
  • In charge of med passing - hands off emergency meds to GCs to keep on their person.
  • Does beginning of the week health and safety checks for all campers.
  • Point of contact to parents - child’s health. Also calls home for camper illness/injury.

For all positions: * If an applicant is hired, the Ann Arbor Y will provide CPR and First Aid training at no cost to the employee.
