Job Description

About Us

Phantom AI supplies ADAS cameras to global automotive manufacturers. We're looking for a Camera ISP/Driver Engineer to help us tune and test automotive image sensors for ADAS. As part of the Phantom Camera team, you'll characterize ADAS optics and imaging, define the requirements, and implement them through CMOS control and ISP tuning. Internally, you'll work alongside our DL, Vision Algorithm, Functional Safety, and Systems teams. Externally, you'll engage directly with global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

Our camera team is expanding, and much of what we do is still being built. You'll help shape the pipelines, evaluation methods, and tuning practices that will become the team's standards. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full breadth of automotive imaging (optics, image sensors, ISP, drivers, and systems), working shoulder-to-shoulder with senior engineers. You'll also see mass-production processes at global OEMs firsthand. If you learn fast, don't mind moving between the lab and the vehicle, and can stay with hard problems until you crack them, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Work with partners and vendors to capture camera and ISP requirements, and translate them into development specifications
  • Tune ISPs and CMOS sensors against those requirements
  • Build and evolve the pipelines we use for image quality evaluation and tuning
  • Develop drivers and firmware for CMOS and ISP control
  • Run image quality tests, analyze the results, and drive improvements

What you bring

  • BS in Computer Science, Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of image quality concepts
  • Working proficiency in C / C++
  • Working proficiency in Python for scripting and data analysis
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Git and Jira
  • Strong quantitative analysis, documentation, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in the automotive industry
  • Hands-on experience with image quality evaluation and tuning (e.g., MTF/SFR, color reproduction, Imatest)
  • Experience with ISP algorithms such as HDR and tone mapping
  • Embedded firmware development experience
  • Development experience on automotive Vision SoC platforms
  • Experience with CMOS image sensor control

Benefit

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Office snacks & reimbursable meals*
  • Paid Time Off
  • FSA
  • 401K
