
The Student Recording Engineer & Mixer provides recording, editing, and mixing support for Commercial Music student projects, Friday Night Live (FNL) productions, and other events.
Responsibilities
• Record, edit, and mix music projects for Commercial Music students.
• Operate recording studio equipment during production projects.
• Prepare recording sessions including microphone setup, signal routing, and session organization
• Mix live audio for Friday Night Live (FNL) broadcasts and other live productions
• Maintain studio equipment and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
• Archive and organize recording sessions and project files.
• Support faculty with recording sessions, showcases, and special events.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Pro Tools recording and editing.
• Experience mixing live sound.
• Knowledge of professional recording studio workflows.
• Experience operating digital audio consoles.
• Understanding of microphones, signal flow, and studio acoustics.
• Strong critical listening skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
