Job Description

Oak Hill has been partnering with people with disabilities, since 1893. We set the standard, providing services and solutions promoting independence, education, health, and dignity.

This role will help expand Oak Hill’s ability to identify and address diverse needs within the community. Along with the individuals we serve, Oak Hill is committed to empowering our staff. We also support you and want to help your each your career goals.

Oak Hill is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our summer co-op program , from June 1, 2026 until August 1, 2026.
This role supports special education teachers in delivering academic and vocational instruction to students individually or in small groups, aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). You will gain experience assisting with lesson planning, instructional materials, differentiated supports, assessments, and documentation, while implementing behavior management strategies and specialized curricula under teacher supervision.

Responsibilities also include creating a positive, supportive learning environment, modeling appropriate social behaviors, assisting with students’ personal care and medical needs, and safely supporting transportation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams, ongoing professional development, and contributing to a school culture focused on student engagement, independence, accountability, and lifelong learning for students with disabilities.

Qualifications
· 18+ years old
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Interest in education and teaching
· Responsible, punctual team player with a desire to learn
· Enrolled in education program (preferred)
· Prior experience working with children (preferred)
· Ability to commit to program dates of June 1, 2026-August 1, 2026
