Quality, Compliance and Risk Leadership Opportunities Across California

Rural Staffing Services partners with rural hospitals, clinics, public hospital districts, regional health systems, community health centers, tribal healthcare organizations, long-term care providers, and community healthcare organizations throughout California to identify experienced leaders in quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, infection prevention, privacy, and regulatory readiness.

We are currently connecting with professionals who may be interested in active and upcoming quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, infection prevention, privacy, and regulatory leadership opportunities across California.

These opportunities may include positions within:

  • Critical Access Hospitals
  • Rural and community hospitals
  • Rural Health Clinics
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Public hospital districts
  • Tribal healthcare organizations
  • Regional health systems
  • Long-term care and senior care organizations
  • Integrated rural healthcare systems
  • Multi-site and regional healthcare networks

This Is More Than a Compliance Role

In rural California, quality, compliance, and risk leaders help protect patients, employees, communities, and the long-term stability of the organization.

These professionals support safe care, strong systems, regulatory readiness, and a culture where concerns can be identified and addressed before they become larger problems.

In some California healthcare organizations, leaders may support multiple facilities, clinics, tribal communities, or rural regions separated by significant distances. They may need to build practical systems that work across rural and geographically isolated locations, smaller teams, broad scopes of practice, telehealth services, regional referral networks, and limited local resources.

The strongest leaders understand that quality and compliance are not simply about policies, audits, investigations, or survey preparation.

They are about helping people do their best work, strengthening trust, improving outcomes, reducing harm, and making sure the organization can continue serving its communities.

They are visible, fair, practical, collaborative, and able to translate complex regulations into clear expectations that employees and leaders can understand and use.

  • A practical, fair, transparent, and relationship-focused leadership style

Some opportunities may require or prefer credentials such as CPHQ, CHC, CHPC, CPPS, CIC, ARM, RN, or another quality, compliance, risk, privacy, safety, infection prevention, or clinical credential.

Specific education, certification, travel, reporting, and experience requirements will depend on the organization and role.

Why Rural California?

California's rural healthcare organizations serve communities across mountain regions, agricultural valleys, forests, high desert areas, tribal lands, remote coastal communities, and small towns located far from larger medical centers and specialty services.

Some communities are connected by major highways and regional corridors. Others are hours from larger medical centers and specialty resources.

These distances can create added complexity for quality, compliance, risk, and patient safety programs.

A policy may need to work in a regional hospital, a small clinic, a tribal healthcare program, and a remote rural setting. A corrective action plan may need to account for limited staffing, wildfire impacts, severe weather, transportation, housing challenges, or specialty access. A strong leader must understand both the regulatory standard and the real-world environment in which employees are working.

Strong quality, compliance, and risk leadership helps organizations identify concerns early, support employees, strengthen systems, reduce harm, and remain prepared for surveys, audits, and unexpected events.

Working in this area in rural California offers the opportunity to create meaningful improvements, support teams directly, and help protect healthcare access across entire communities and regions.

You may help strengthen a safety culture, prepare an organization for survey, improve incident reporting, support infection prevention, simplify policies, reduce risk, or create systems that make it easier for employees to provide safe care.

The work requires adaptability, fairness, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to helping people and organizations improve.
