To assist the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
- Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
- Assists in the maintenance of an attractive and informative Parent Table that is updated regularly.
- Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum; manages effective classroom management.
- Assists in the supervision of children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
- Maintains open and effective communication with the team, parents and school community.
- Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
- Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and Program Director to resolve.
- Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

QualificationsEducation/

Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have the energy and passion for working with elementary-aged children and a desire to grow within the childcare field.
- The ideal candidate will have CPR and First Aid training certificate and Basic Health and Safety training certificate.
- The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment.
