The Calibration and instrumentation Technician’s primary duties are to calibrate and provide troubleshooting support for facility and manufacturing critical systems. This is done by testing and calibrating electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, analytical, and measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established calibration standards and principles. The Calibration Technician ensures calibration of all critical instrumentations are performed on-time and on schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform field Calibrations across multiple facilities (pressure, temperature, speed, time)
  • Update and maintain calibration database (BMRAM, Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager)
  • Possesses an understanding of calibration procedures for process instruments, which measure temperature, pressure, flow, level, and composition, along with an understanding of process controls and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with Metrology Contractors and Vendors to ensure calibration of all critical instrumentation is performed according to the schedule and approved SOPs.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Quality in developing the calibration schedule.
  • Review calibration certificates for completeness and accuracy. Maintain calibration standards.
  • Tag all new equipment/instrumentation and assign inventory numbers.
  • Recommends improvements on procedures.
  • Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • AAS degree in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or industrial
  • 1 year experience working with instrumentation and calibrations in a GxP environment or HS diploma
  • 1- 2 years’ of experience working with instrumentation and calibrations in a GxP environment
  • 1-3 years’ experience in metrology/calibration at pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Preferred:

  • Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager experience preferred.
  • Previous experience at a pharmaceutical manufacturer preferred.
  • Military calibration, maintenance and instrumentation training and experience.
  • Low voltage wiring technical and understanding.
  • Instrumentation and Controls
  • Well versed computer skills and Microsoft Office tools
  • Customer Service Skills
