Overview

Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with computers? Element is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our Huntsville laboratory team.

This role offers the opportunity to build a specialized skillset in calibration, testing, and quality systems while working in a clean, laboratory-based environment.

Whether you're an experienced technician or someone with strong technical aptitude looking to learn a new trade, we provide the training and support needed for long-term success. According to the hiring manager, character, reliability, basic computer proficiency, and willingness to learn are often more important than extensive industry experience.

Compensation: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • As a Calibration Technician, you'll perform inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting, and maintenance on equipment used to measure:
  • Additional responsibilities include:
  • Temperature
  • Pressure
  • Force and weight
  • Electrical properties
  • Mechanical properties
  • Vibration and dynamic performance
  • Perform simple and complex equipment calibrations
  • Verify calibration certifications and documentation
  • Maintain and troubleshoot test and measurement equipment
  • Support corrective actions for out-of-tolerance conditions
  • Utilize calibration software and diagnostic tools
  • Assist laboratory personnel with calibration-related inquiries
  • Track results and maintain accurate records
  • Follow established quality and calibration standards
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Calibration Supervisor

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma, technical school certificate, or equivalent experience
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and documentation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in a science, engineering, or technical discipline
  • 1-3 years of calibration, testing, maintenance, or laboratory experience
  • Experience interpreting calibration procedures and requirements
  • Test equipment maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and measurement uncertainty
  • Knowledge of quality systems and industry standards such as:
  • ISO/IEC 17025
  • ISO 9001
  • AS9100
  • NIST
  • ANSI/NCSL Z540-1
