Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Calibration Specialist to join our Engineering team where you'll provide support with administration and calibration functions. This role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham site.
Ontic is a more than just a business, we're a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. The Role:
Join Ontic as a Calibration Coordinator and play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and reliability of our calibration operations across multiple sites.
In this fast-paced and varied role, you'll coordinate calibration activities, manage equipment logistics, maintain accurate calibration records, and support purchasing activities to keep our operations running smoothly. Acting as the key link between internal teams and external calibration providers, you'll ensure equipment is calibrated on time and meets stringent quality and regulatory standards.
Approximately 30% of this role involves transporting calibration equipment between company sites. As part of these duties, the successful candidate will be required to safely load, unload and move equipment weighing between 20–30kg without mechanical assistance. A UK driving licence is essential, as the role includes driving the company calibration van between locations.
If you're highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a collaborative environment where your work directly supports manufacturing excellence, we'd love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career within a global aerospace organisation committed to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
About you:

To be successful in this role you'll need to be proactive and highly organised, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. You'll have previous experience in an administration, coordination, or support role, ideally within a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or operational setting. With excellent organisational and planning skills, you'll be confident managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and ensuring documentation and records are maintained with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
You'll be an effective communicator who enjoys building strong working relationships across cross-functional teams and with external suppliers. Comfortable working independently, you'll also be a collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word, are essential, along with experience maintaining electronic databases and records while ensuring data integrity and traceability.
Experience within the aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, quality, or another highly regulated industry would be a distinct advantage. You'll stand out if you have an understanding of calibration processes, quality management systems, and industry standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100. Experience using ERP or purchasing systems, such as SAP, would also be beneficial.
If you're passionate about organisation, quality, and continuous improvement, and you're looking to join a global aerospace business where your work directly supports operational excellence and customer success, we'd love to hear from you.
