Job Description

Job Objective

  • A Calibration Engineer is responsible for ensuring that measuring instruments and testing
  • equipment are functioning accurately and reliably. This includes developing and implementing
  • calibration procedures, creating Calibration Management Plans (CMP), performing complex
  • adjustments and fine-tuning instruments to meet specific standards, and conducting regular
  • maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition. The role also involves managing third-party
  • calibrations, adhering to industry regulations and standards, documenting calibration procedures,
  • maintaining detailed calibration records, and collaborating effectively with other team members to
  • ensure the accuracy of measurements. Additionally, the Calibration Engineer will lead a small team
  • of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Environment
  • Internal and external interactions i.e.: with other departments/divisions, international scope,
  • providers, customers)

Internal GEPD management members, manufacturing, quality and service divisions.

External In absence of Lead Electrical Engineer, quipment suppliers, Health Authorities, government authorities and auditors.

Key responsibility

  • Develop and implement comprehensive calibration procedures for laboratory instruments,
  • production equipment, and utility critical activities.
  • Create and manage Calibration Management Plans (CMP).
  • Perform complex calibration, adjustment, and maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze, interpret, and review raw data obtained during verification and calibration activities.
  • Prepare and follow up on detailed calibration reports.
  • Manage third-party calibration services and ensure their compliance with internal and regulatory
  • standards.
  • Provide technical assessment of change controls, deviations, and CAPAs related to the processes
  • developed in GEPD.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of calibration technicians, providing training, guidance, and
  • performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Academic experience required
  • Bachelor's degree on Engineering or Health-related Sciences.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Professional Experience Required

  • Typically requires 2 to 5 years of calibration experience in the pharmaceutical industry under
  • cGMP.
  • Over 5 years of professional experience leading teams.

Grifols Egypt for plasma derivatives is a joint-venture (JV) company between the Egyptian Government, through the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) and Grifols, the global leader in plasma medicines with more than 110 years of contribution to improving the health and well-being of people.

This joint venture is the first of its kind in the plasma industry and the first-ever Egyptian source member of the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA). GEPD is a groundbreaking global public-private alliance that will benefit the entire region.

GEPD is committed to developing the plasma medicines market and achieving self-sufficiency in these critical therapies, which is crucial for the Egyptian healthcare system.

We are combining the expertise of both shareholders to build and operate 20 plasma donation centers throughout Egypt, along with manufacturing facilities including fractionation, purification, and fill-and-finish plants with a processing capacity of up to 1 million liters of plasma annually that can double in the future.

The new manufacturing facility will include a plasma warehouse and a testing laboratory. It will occupy 105,000 square meters strategically located in the administrative capital’s medical city, adjoining various healthcare institutions.
