Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Following standard methods and techniques, sets up and monitors materials and machinery during production runs to ensure it meets customer and product specification, and alerts Manager or Lead when standards are not met.
2. Feeds rubber through or around machine rollers and dryers.
3. Observes gauges and adjusts controls of machine to regulate functions, such as speed, temperature, and thickness of rubber.

1. Cross wraps of finished rolls
2. Unloads and set ups paper rolls
3. Operates the overhead hoist to move rolls
4. Loads oven programs and or verifies correct parameters

1. Assists Calender Operator with order changes and set-ups.
2. Completes all necessary documentation during and upon completion of production.

1. Monitors and records process controls and settings to determine material is being produced to specification.
2. Performs quality inspections and tests.
3. Cuts rolls, weighs and prepares roll tickets.
4. Diagnoses and troubleshoots common operational and quality problems and makes necessary machine adjustments to correct.
5. Operates scrap grinder or Siliconizer as required.
6. Collects SPC data to chart and record accurately.
7. Promotes safety by:

1. Actively assesses activities on a constant basis to ensure no unsafe actions or results will occur.
2. Ensuring the housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work area is maintained or improved to the highest level possible.
3. Wearing personal protective equipment (hearing protection, eye protection, steel toed shoes and gloves).

1. Ensures Quality products and processes are maintained by:
   1. Understanding and supporting both quality policies and the Quality System.
   2. Performing work at a level that ensures quality of this position’s work meets or exceeds internal specifications.
   3. Identifying and correcting if possible any identified quality issues in the department.
   4. Participating in system or quality based training provided by the company or recommended by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.*

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to operate computer for data input and retrieval.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions. Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and manufacturing terminology.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasionally, the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
