Job Title: Cake Room Team Member
Department: Production
Location: Wenzel’s The Bakers – Watford (WD18 9TB)
Job Type: Full-time - Permanent, over 5 days a week, Monday to Sunday
Salary: £26,812.50 per annum (based on a 40-hour contract, 37.5 hours paid)
Reporting To: Cake Room Supervisor / Senior Production Manager

The Cake Room Team Member is responsible for producing, assembling, and decorating cakes, pastries, and confectionery items to Wenzel’s high standards. This role requires creativity, precision, and a strong focus on quality, hygiene, and consistency.

You will work as part of a fast-paced production team to ensure products are prepared efficiently and meet customer and store demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts in line with company recipes and standards

• Ensure consistency in product quality, presentation, and taste

• Follow daily production plans to meet business and customer demand

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety

• Operate equipment safely and report any faults or issues

• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report shortages

• Follow portion control and minimise waste

• Support team members and contribute to a positive working environment

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in cake decorating, pastry, or bakery production is desirable

• Strong attention to detail and passion for quality

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards

• Team player with good communication skills
