Job Description

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Pass a criminal history check
  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Some food service experience preferred

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Routine manual work involving food production in Food Service cash operations in a high school setting. Work involves preparing and making food options which may include but are not limited to: slicing and weighing of meat, vegetables, fruits and grain products for cooking, assembling, packaging, and packing of menu items. Activities and decisions are routine in nature. Employee follows written and/or oral procedures and practices.

Must have the ability to operate commercial dishwasher, meat slicer, ovens, mixers and other small appliances. Ability to handle knives and other sharp items in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include some or all of the following:

  • Prepare, mix and assemble a variety of sandwiches
  • Slice meat, cheese, vegetables or other products for sandwiches or other menu options
  • Pack prepared sandwiches for transport and delivery to units on campus
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment
  • Clean all food contact surfaces with sanitizer
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Wash and sanitize slicing equipment after every use
  • Clean and organize coolers and freezers
  • Cook menu items, prepare steam table set-up and break-down, and clean steam table
  • Record temperature setting on coolers and freezers
  • Operate commercial dishwasher
  • Wash all dishes, utensils, knives and containers
  • Perform cash register duties using POS system
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must satisfy all job related attendance requirements
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment

Availability: August 13, 2026

Hours: 5 hours per day (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) Monday through Friday

Salary: $17.20 per hour (benefits not included)
