The EdAdvance Cafeteria Manager works under the supervision of the Food Service Director in the Division of Operations.

This position is a part time academic calendar position.

Position open until filled / Anticipated start date August 25, 2026

The Cafeteria Manager will oversee all aspects of the school cafeteria. Candidate should be knowledgeable in National School Lunch Program, safety and sanitation, and possess strong customer service skills.

  • Oversee the preparation of meals for the National School Lunch and Breakfast program
  • Ability to cook as required
  • Other duties as may be assigned
  • Occasional flexible or additional hours may be needed
  • Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position


Major Responsibilities:

  • Tasks include preparing food which may involve basic cooking, serving food to students, cleaning kitchen equipment and putting away stock / deliveries.
  • Performs assigned tasks in designated areas
  • Follows all sanitation and health codes governing food preparation and personal appearance
  • Works with hot ovens, sharp tools, slippery floors, and some heavy lifting
  • Requires general knowledge of food and nutrition
  • Other duties as may be assigned


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Qualified food operators' certificate or the ability to become certified
  • Strong organizational skills are a must
  • Knowledge of food, nutrition and methods of quantity cooking
  • Ability to operate and care for institutional equipment
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to keep all records as directed
  • Be cognizant of acceptable public relations techniques and possess good judgment
  • Ability to delegate authority and to communicate with other department personnel
  • Aptitude for working in a program serving children


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work entire shift on your feet
  • Must be able to push and pull carts
