Temporary Casual (August 2026 – August 2027)
3 positions available at each site: Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Compensation Range: $22.50 - $26.28/hour


ErinoakKids would like to invite members of our community to join us as staff for our new cafés - Erin’s – opening this fall at our sites in Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville. Working hours will be between 3-5 hours per day and 3-4 shifts per week.

This role supports the operations of a small café that will provide hot and cold beverages along with prepared food. The café team will greet visitors, prepare hot and cold beverages, provide prepared snacks, manage transactions through a point-of-sale machine, maintain cleanliness and restock products as needed. Former ErinoakKids clients are welcome and strongly encouraged to apply! Staff will be provided with extensive paid training in a learn-to-work model in a very supportive environment.

Please note the responsibilities listed below are suggested expectations only once the successful candidate has completed comprehensive paid training.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and attentive manner, identifying their needs and responding with clear, courteous communication 
  • Take customer orders 
  • Prepare hot and cold beverage orders
  • Serve customer beverages and food items, ensuring order accuracy
  • Process customer transactions using the Point-of-Sale system with support
  • Maintain café cleanliness 
  • Pick up and return float at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Reconcile cash, float, and sales totals accurately after each shift with support
  • Follow all workplace safety, sanitation and food handling procedures  
  • Inventory management using FIFO (first in, first out) procedures 
     
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Certificate [OSSD/OSSC] 
  • Ontario Food Handler’s Certification (must be within 5 years) – obtained or willing to obtain
  • Previous hospitality experience is considered an asset (volunteer, co-op or employment) 
  • Previous customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Point of Sale (POS) experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team and build relationships  
  • Ability to work flexible hours (mornings and afternoons)
