About the Centre

Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) is a state-of-the-art recreation centre located in the heart of Traralgon, Victoria. We run a variety of fitness and swim programs and memberships to suit adults and children. The centre houses a Gym, three Group Fitness Rooms, Indoor 50m Pool, Outdoor 25m Pool, Indoor Warm Water Pool, Indoor designated Learn to Swim Pool, Spa/Sauna/Steam Room, two large Water Slides, Aqua Playground and on site Café.

About the Role

Operations Management

  • Efficiently oversee daily cafe and retail operations.
  • Ensure timely opening and closing procedures.
  • Optimise inventory control and stock levels.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures for food and retail products.
  • Ensure Food Safety Standards are adhered to at the highest standards.
  • Working with Stock Management and POS systems to optimise performance.
  • Ensuring waste streaming

Staff Management

  • Identify staffing needs and collaborate with People and Culture for effective recruitment.
  • Ensure new staff receive thorough, engaging, and supportive onboarding.
  • Identify and promote training opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage staff performance, attendance, and compliance with policies.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Address and resolve workplace conflicts promptly and professionally and escalate to Centre Manager if necessary.

Functions Coordination

  • Coordinate logistics for successful execution of events.
  • Ensure a high standard of service during functions, meeting, or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with various external teams to create customised packages for events including swim meets, bookings etc
  • Ensure highly effective stakeholder management in the planning, delivery and execution of functions.

The role is Full Time - Permanent with an hourly rate of $38.90 + super + Y benefits.

About You

  • Experience in café, hospitality or functions coordination.
  • Strong leadership, customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate events and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety, WHS, stock control and POS systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems.
  • Relevant hospitality qualifications (desirable).

  • Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009
  • VIC Food Safety Supervisor

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
