About the Centre

The Boroondara Sports Complex is one of 4 facilities in Boroondara, and is owned by City of Boroondara and managed proudly by The Y. The facility contains a Health Club, 5 basketball courts, 2 program rooms, an outdoor aquatic area consisting of 50m pool, toddler pool and dive pool, café, gymnastics studio and child care services.

About the role

Based at Boroondara Sports Complex, you will be responsible for food and beverage preparation and service including:

  • Cash handling, food handling, cleaning and adhering to occupational health and safety within the café and catering for events.
  • Will be highly motivated and passionate about food services.
  • Commitment to the implementation and promotion of the YMCA Healthy Food and Beverage Policy.

This role is being offer as either a casual position with an hourly rate of up to $33.05 + Super.

Please note: Desired availability weekdays and weekends.

About you

Experience is desirable but not mandatory, if you have any of the following skills we'd love to hear from you:

  • Communication – Ability to communicate with a variety of people varying in age, ability and background
  • Teamwork – Team focused attitude, with ability to work with a range of people to achieve outcomes
  • Engagement – Ability to engage with customers to create an engaging and welcoming environment
  • Previous experience in hospitality will be highly regarded
  • Basic computer skills
  • Barista experience desirable
  • Food preparation experience desirable

Essential Qualifications

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Do Food Safely certificate

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
