About the role

Looking for an opportunity to build your hospitality experience, grow a diverse skillset and be part of a café with a purpose? Look no further!

The Little Social is Youth Projects’ social enterprise café. Alongside serving great coffee and food, our cafés create opportunities for young people to gain practical experience, develop workplace skills and take meaningful steps towards employment.

We’re looking for entry level hospitality staff with high energy and great customer service/interpersonal skills. If this sounds like you, apply today!

This role is based across multiple locations, such as: Footscray hospital, Wyndham law Courts, Port Melbourne and other inner city locations

What you’ll be doing

  • Making and serving coffee and other drinks
  • Taking customer orders and using a point-of-sale system
  • Preparing and serving food
  • Providing friendly customer service
  • Keeping café and service areas clean and organised
  • Working as part of a busy and supportive team
  • Building the confidence and skills needed for future employment

About you

This could be a great fit if you:

  • Are interested in hospitality, cafés or customer service
  • Enjoy meeting and helping different people
  • Are reliable, willing to learn and ready to have a go
  • Can work well in a team and move between different tasks
  • Want to build practical skills and real workplace experience

Hospitality or barista experience may be helpful for some opportunities, but you do not need to have everything figured out before expressing your interest.

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
