We are looking for a Café Host/Cashier to join the Culinary Team at Pixar Animation Studios as our On-Call Host. Are you hospitable, outgoing, hard working, quick to learn names, good with details, experienced in serving high quality food and enjoy being part of a close-knit work community? We are a fun and professional Culinary Team, operating a high-volume, high food quality Café, who feed a creative group of employees who appreciate great food & service. We offer nights and weekends off, holidays off, and a beautiful work environment. Café, catering or restaurant food service experience is required, customer service skills are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Generally available to work weekdays, 7:30AM to 4:30PM

• Take food orders from customers (Pixar employees, visiting guests), enter them in the point-of-sale system, and accurately handle credit card payments

• Prepare coffee-based beverages on request (we will train you!); serve prepared pastries and other ready food items

• Clean and maintain the work station, display cases, and equipment

• Maintain the dining room area cleanliness and re-stock supplies

• Follow established Café guidelines concerning guest services and satisfaction, food and physical, safety, maintenance and equipment/space cleaning standards and requirements at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High quality food experience a must

• Must have a strong customer service background: positive, upbeat, warm, and personable demeanor

• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests

• Demonstrated excellence in guest service skills: reliable, consistent and courteous

• Previous experience with point-of-sale systems

• Previous experience with Catering and Events a plus

• General knowledge of common computer software and Web browsers sufficient to view and use internal company information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Verbal communication, including speech and response to spoken questions

• Able to work in continuously-standing position for four or more hours

• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds

• Able to work with hands continuously: entering orders, serving, pouring, re-stocking supplies

The hiring range for this position in Emeryville is $36,465.00 to $47,190.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
