Sedgman is looking to hire a Junior CAD Designer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This position is for someone who is skilled at creating technical drawings for engineering projects; they are able to maintain up-to-date records, are organized and detail-oriented

The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills, and a strong understanding of design principles, and be able to create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software and manual systems.

What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities:

• Create 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical and structural mining projects.

• Work with engineers and designers to complete accurate drawing packages.

• Update drawings based on changes, redlines, and feedback.

• Keep drafting files, templates and standards organized.

• Work with different disciplines (mechanical, structural, electrical) to ensure drawings are complete and accurate.

• Other tasks as is required for role.

What are we looking for in our future team member? Qualifications:

• Engineering Technology Diploma (from accredited Canadian institution)

• Familiarity with AutoCAD software

• Able to read and understand P&ID’s, PFD’s, engineering notes, sketches and instructions.

• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;

• Has a strong attention to detail

• Good understanding of mechanical parts, structural layouts and drafting practices

• Experience in mining or industrial drafting is an asset

• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

Salary Range : $55,000-65,000
