Overall governance
• Ensure understanding of architectural/engineering design policies, technical standards, guidelines, and procedures, to provide guidelines to junior members.
• Support periodic revision of policies, standards, guidelines, work processes, and procedures that are relevant to architectural/engineering design-related work, to ensure efficient operation and alignment with the company’s policies & compliance with relevant governance.
Function-related accountabilities
1. Conceptual and detailed design
• Perform architectural/engineering design by disciplines and select the appropriate criteria, system, and technology to ensure designs are in compliance with customer requirements, TOR specifications, and architectural/engineering principles.
• Supervise coordination with marketing and sales departments to obtain information on customer requirements in order to translate them into accurate and complete technical information.
• Perform activities in conceptual design, design development, and detail design to create coherence in the next workflow to ensure that the designed concept is usable and implementable, as well as check all documents to ensure the accuracy of documentation.
2. Design Software Competency
• Conduct complex design models of architectural/engineering works through Design software in accordance with the design plan document to ensure such drawings are compliant with construction regulations and architectural/engineering principles.
• Communicate potential design issues to customers, project management teams, and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the problem is properly resolved.
• Ensure online and offline records of all the daily activities related to Design software operation to ensure data integrity.
3. Technical proposal development and TOR clarification and inspection
• Perform coordination with sales departments to obtain details of the technical proposal/ TOR to further clarify and crosscheck with related documents such as design plans, relevant cost evaluations, and pricing, to ensure a properly priced offer as well as to ensure compliance with the customer requirements are met.
• Perform coordination with project management teams to deliver and inspect design blueprints and Design models to ensure smoothness of construction workflow.
• Review and revise designs as needed in order to solve problems resulting from the design of the model to be consistent with the actual construction site under consideration of the goals of the commissioning plan and the budget set.
