The Company
Hitachi Particle Engineering and Services, Inc. (HPES) provides service and maintenance operations to Particle Therapy systems. Accsys Technologies, a division of HPES designs and manufactures ion RF LINAC systems (radio frequency linear accelerator), which are used in Particle Beam Therapy systems and R&D applications. Hitachi Particle Engineering and Services, Inc. is a Hitachi Group Company.
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Engineer to support a high-priority initiative focused on improving and updating a large volume of existing engineering drawings. This role is not focused on new product design but on high-volume revision and improvement work based on manufacturing feedback.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Review and update existing SolidWorks drawings based on manufacturing and production feedback
Modify dimensions, tolerances, annotations, and BOMs
Ensure consistency between 3D models and 2D drawings
Execute high-volume drawing revisions efficiently
Manage revisions using PDM (SolidWorks PDM / EPDM)
KPI (Key Performance Indicators)
6 - 10 drawing revisions per day per engineer (depending on complexity)
- <10% rework rate (measured as returned corrections)
Backlog reduction target: 20 – 30% per month
100% compliance with PDM revision and workflow standards
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer technology, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in CAD software
Proficiency in SolidWorks (Drawing environment focused)
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications (preferred)
Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications (preferred)
Experience updating existing engineering drawings
Working knowledge of GD&T
Experience with PDM systems (EPDM preferred)

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162) The expected hourly rate for this position in our California office is $27.50 - $30 per hour. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
