WSP’s Mine Waste team support some of Australia’s most innovative mining projects with bespoke industry leading technical solutions.
We are seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our high performing Melbourne design team supporting national mine waste projects with high quality 2D/3D design works.
Support and direct design and documentation with other engineering and drafting disciplines and with other team members
Carry out assigned project and CAD design work (both 2D and 3D) as part of an integral team adhering to technical and commercial standards
Undertaking three-dimensional modelling on a range of civil and mining infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on landform design, and able to perform quantities analyses
Support and direct the preparation of detailed engineering drawings (concept to detailed design, tender issue, construction issue and as-constructed) and implement changes as directed by senior staff review
Perform scaling, dimensioning, or line locating according to standard industry procedures
Support and direct the preparation of sketeches, diagrams and layouts
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and be committed to team approach and outcomes
Support other sectors of the business on project activities ranging from feasibility to detailed CAD design
Provide ongoing continuous improvement and development inputs to create more efficient workflows within the team
What you’ll bring:
Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or 12D essential
Experience in Microsation ideally focused in the mining/landform design space is not essential but highly regarded
Demonstrated experience in construction drawing package is essential
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Reliable and committed to producing high-quality work
Ability to work efficiently autonomously and in a team environment
