Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CAD Drafter specializing in furniture and millwork design to join our innovative team. In this role, you will transform conceptual ideas into precise, comprehensive technical drawings that guide manufacturing and installation processes. Your expertise in CAD software and building code compliance will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed construction drawings, schematics, and fabrication plans for custom furniture and millwork projects using CAD software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, and MicroStation.
  • Create accurate 3D models of furniture components and millwork using advanced 3D CAD modeling tools like SketchUp, Grasshopper 3D, SolidWorks, and Rhinoceros 3D.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams to interpret concepts into precise technical drawings that adhere to project specifications and client requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices for construction detail documentation.
  • Utilize building information modeling (BIM) tools to coordinate project data across disciplines for seamless integration during construction phases.
  • Conduct building code analysis to verify compliance with local regulations and standards for furniture installation within various architectural contexts.
  • Assist in the development of schematics and engineering CAD designs that support efficient manufacturing workflows.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in CAD drafting for furniture, millwork, or related construction projects with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency.
  • Proficiency in multiple CAD software platforms including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Grasshopper 3D, Bluebeam, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Skilled in 3D CAD modeling and building information modeling (BIM) tools to produce detailed visualizations and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of construction detail documentation processes along with practical construction experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of building code analysis and compliance requirements relevant to furniture installation and architectural integration.
  • Excellent drafting skills complemented by a keen eye for graphic design principles applied within technical drawings.
  • Ability to interpret architectural plans and translate them into precise fabrication drawings while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
