Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a CAD Drafter to join our Midtown Bus Terminal project at 520 8th Ave in Manhattan, NY.

Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent

The CAD Drafter is responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining technical drawings and survey-based mapping documents for civil construction projects. Working closely with Project Engineers, Surveyors, VDC personnel, and field operations teams, this role supports the development of site plans, utility layouts, grading plans, survey maps, as-built drawings, and construction documentation. The ideal candidate will have approximately two years of drafting experience in civil construction, surveying, land development, or infrastructure projects and be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.

  • Develop survey base maps from field survey data, point files, and geospatial information.

  • Create and update topographic maps, utility drawings, grading plans, site layouts, and plan/profile sheets.

  • Process survey data and integrate field information into project drawings.

  • Assist in preparing existing conditions plans, boundary surveys, easement exhibits, and as-built documentation.

  • Maintain drawing files in accordance with company CAD standards and project requirements.

  • Coordinate with Surveyors, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and construction personnel to ensure drawing accuracy.

  • Update construction documents to reflect design revisions, RFIs, field changes, and record conditions.

  • Support quantity takeoffs and basic design calculations as required.

  • Organize project files and maintain document control procedures.

  • Verify drawing consistency, dimensions, elevations, coordinates, and project control information.

  • Assist with utility coordination, roadway, drainage, grading, and infrastructure-related drawing production.

  • Participate in quality control reviews to ensure compliance with company and client standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED required. College degree in civil engineering, construction management or related or technical certification preferred.

  • Two (2) years of experience in CAD drafting within civil engineering, surveying, construction, or land development.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Experience working with survey data, topographic mapping, and civil site plans.

  • Understanding of drafting standards, scales, coordinate systems, and construction documents.

  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, survey maps, and engineering plans.

  • MS Office, Bluebeam, Revu

  • Leica Register 360 and 3DR.

  • Experience supporting heavy civil, transportation, infrastructure, utility, or site development projects.

  • Familiarity with GIS platforms, LiDAR data, drone mapping, or 3D modeling.

  • Knowledge of state DOT, municipal, or public agency drafting standards.

  • Experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, or related software.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
