This position is responsible for creating and maintaining schematics, and 3-dimensional virtual component models & assemblies under the guidance of Product Engineers and/or other poly personnel. Includes creation of models and drawings for Sales to be used in customer presentations. A secondary function is to generate manufacturing drawings for assembly, fabrication, or off-site vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities (not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned)
• Collaborate with the Poly team and Sales team to design and develop a product or product family
• Assist Sales with arrangement drawings for customer presentations.
• Cooperate with Production to resolve design and quality issues.
• Self-check own work to ensure accuracy and organization, dimension and tolerance convention, and conformance with established CAD specifications and standards
• Work with external suppliers to resolve issues
Qualifications
• Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)
• Knowledge of welding procedures, sheet metal and poly
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
• Ability to communicate technical knowledge (verbally and written) in a clear and understandable manner
• Possess good oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills
• Open to learn and willing to participate in Lean Manufacturing methodology
• Able and willing to maintain confidential information
• Must be able to effectively interact with, and maintain a professional image with customers and team members
• Able to travel for business 5-10% of the time
• Ability to create BOMS and offer cost analysist.
Education and/or Experience
• Drafting, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing: 2 years
• Fusion360 or similar experience: 2 years
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk over 50% of work time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb upon or crawl beneath vehicles and move about in a dusty and loud environment to take measurements and consult with factory personnel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
