The CAD Template Reviewer is responsible for receiving and reviewing digital laser template
files submitted by field templators, verifying their accuracy, and preparing them for production
programming. Primary software (LT Laser) is straightforward and training will be provided. What
matters most in this role is a strong attention to detail and the ability to learn the differences
between countertop material types — training on materials will be provided, and a background
in countertop fabrication is not expected.
The reviewer plays a critical quality-control function between the field measurement team and
the fabrication/programming department, ensuring that every file sent to production is accurate,
complete, and properly categorized by material.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive and open digital laser template files submitted by field templators using the LT
Laser CAD software.
• Carefully review each template file for accuracy, completeness, and proper
measurements before passing to the programming department.
• Identify and flag any inconsistencies, missing information, or errors in the template files
and coordinate with the appropriate templator or project manager for corrections.
• Learn and apply material-specific guidelines to each project — understanding the
differences between granite, quartz, solid surface, laminate, and butcher block as they
relate to the review process (full training provided).
• Over time, develop an understanding of how material type affects fabrication tolerances,
edge details, seam placement, and cutout specifications, and flag files that may not
account for these differences.
• Prepare reviewed and approved digital files and route them to the quoting and
programming departments with accurate supporting information.
• Communicate with estimators and project managers to clarify project details, confirm
material selections, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date digital file records, ensuring version control and
proper project documentation.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring field measurement issues and
communicating feedback to the field team.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in
drafting, design, or a related field is a plus but not required.
• Prior experience in countertop fabrication, construction, or a related trade is a plus but
not required — a background in any detail-oriented or production environment is valued.
• Familiarity with CAD software or digital drawing tools; experience with LT Laser software
is a plus (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail — this is the most important qualification for this role.
• Ability to read and interpret field measurements and translate them into production-ready
files.
• Comfort working with multiple concurrent projects and product lines simultaneously.
• Good communication skills and willingness to follow up on discrepancies with field or
office staff.
• Self-motivated and reliable, especially given the potential for a remote work
arrangement.
