We are seeking a CAD Applications Engineer to join our CAD team within a leading Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer specializing in turbomachinery (turbines, compressors, and related components). This role is pivotal in scouting, deploying, and maintaining advanced CAD applications that accelerate the design of complex mechanical components and assemblies.

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical design fundamentals with programming expertise and a passion for digital engineering and process optimization.

As CAD Applications Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and support of engineering tools and digital applications:

  • Own the maintenance and support of part catalogue (e.g. CADENAS), cost control (e.g. LeanCost), virtual reality (e.g. Exxar), and cloud-based engineering applications based on AWS (E.g. Aveva E3D, Tekla etc…), ensuring stable operations, service continuity, and alignment with business needs.
  • Monitor application performance, infrastructure health, licenses, interfaces, and availability, proactively addressing incidents, vulnerabilities, and service risks to meet agreed SLA targets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for end users, Engineering, Digital Technology, and external suppliers, coordinating support activities, issue resolution, change requests, and enhancement priorities.
  • Provide functional and technical support to users, troubleshooting issues, performing root-cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and documenting recurring problems and solutions.
  • Manage tool lifecycle activities, including upgrades, configuration changes, governance, data quality controls, access management, and compliance with internal standards and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve tool usability, operational efficiency, automation, system stability, and overall service quality across the engineering application landscape.
  • Contribute to CAD automation developments based on various CAD software (E.g Solidworks, Siemens NX).

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus at least 2 years of experience in same role in complex organizations.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of ENG processes about 3D Catalogues, Plants and detailed Design and Virtual Reality.
  • Knowledge of CLOUD Platform management.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and turbomachinery components.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to staying current with the latest technology trends and best practices.

For Italy: The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 38,605 To 59,000.

"The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay".
