Job Description


Position Overview

The CAD & CNC Countertop Designer / Programmer is responsible for designing accurate

countertop shop drawings and translating those designs into machine-ready CNC programs for

fabrication. This hybrid role bridges design and production, ensuring seamless execution from

architectural plans through finished product. The position works closely with project managers,

estimators, and fabrication teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and precise countertop

solutions.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Design & Drafting

∙
Interpret architectural drawings, templates, and field measurements to create accurate

countertop CAD shop drawings.

∙
Produce slab layouts, fabrication drawings, edge profiles, cutouts, and installation details.

∙
Collaborate with estimators and project managers to confirm measurements, material

usage, and design feasibility.

∙
Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, field conditions, or project

changes.

∙
Maintain organized design files with proper version control.

∙
Provide technical design support to project management, fabrication, and installation

teams.

CNC Programming & Fabrication Support

∙
Review and interpret CAD drawings to generate machine-ready CNC programs.

∙
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for cutting, polishing, and finishing stone,

quartz, and solid surface materials.

∙
Set up and configure CNC machines (routers, saws, polishers) for production runs as

required.

∙
Troubleshoot CNC programs and fabrication issues related to tooling, material, or

machining processes.

∙
Monitor CNC output to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency.

∙
Maintain CNC program files and technical documentation.

∙
Layout for color match and veining

∙
Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, improve throughput, and

enhance quality.


Requirements


Qualifications

∙
Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,

Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred), or equivalent hands-on experience.

∙
Proven experience in CAD design and CNC programming, preferably in countertops,

stone fabrication, millwork, or construction-related manufacturing.

∙
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).

∙
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and technical

specifications.

∙
Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in both design and programming.

∙
Effective problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment.

∙
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

WILLING TO GO UNDER TRAINING FOR CNC PROGRAMMING.
