SUPPORT ENGINEERING SYSTEMS ACROSS COILCRAFT

Position: CAD Administrator Location: Cary, Illinois

Coilcraft, Inc. is a privately held global manufacturer headquartered in Cary, Illinois, with a 75+ year reputation for quality and engineering excellence. Our high-performance magnetic components serve customers across telecommunications, computing, automotive, broadband communications, and consumer electronics worldwide. We are seeking a SolidWorks / PDM Administrator to support our engineering teams and SolidWorks environment across multiple Coilcraft locations. This position will serve as the primary administrator and technical resource for SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Professional, helping ensure our engineering systems, data, standards, and processes remain reliable, organized, and consistent throughout the organization.

About the Role and Your Impact

  • Serve as the lead administrator for SolidWorks in a multi-site environment
  • Configure, administer, maintain, and continuously improve the SolidWorks environment
  • Act as a backup to the PDM administrator
  • Establish and maintain modeling, assembly and drawing standards, templates, libraries, file structures.
  • Manage SolidWorks software installations, licensing, permissions, security, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SolidWorks questions, technical issues, and user support
  • Provide ongoing training and support to SolidWorks users while helping employees take advantage of available tools and resources
  • Communicate regularly with satellite locations and internal departments, including Purchasing, Receiving, Design, and Engineering, to establish best practices and consistent standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering data management, system utilization, and user workflows
  • Assist with additional engineering systems and administrative projects as needed

Who We're Looking For

  • Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and training
  • 3+ years of experience working with SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminology
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Desire to proactively improve the system to take it to new levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively support a diverse group of end users
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across departments and multiple locations

Preferred Skills

  • Experience administering SolidWorks
  • Experience supporting SolidWorks in a multi-site manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience with software installation, licensing, permissions, and user administration
  • Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing systems
  • Experience developing CAD standards, templates, libraries, Macros
  • Experience providing technical training and support to engineering users
