Job Description

Are you a dedicated professional ready to make a tangible difference in the heart of Washington, DC? Hillcrest Children & Family Center is looking for a mission-driven Certified Addiction Counselor I (CAC I) to join our clinical team.

As a CAC I, you are at the center of our clinical mission. You will be the steady hand for clients navigating addiction, providing the tools and advocacy they need to reclaim their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate impactful individual counseling sessions and lead treatment groups that address both addiction and related mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with key partners, including the DC court system, DYS, and CFSA, to ensure your clients have a voice and access to every necessary resource.
  • Manage the critical transition to inpatient facilities for clients requiring intensive care.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop 90-day personalized treatment plans, monitoring progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation in our EMR systems and stay sharp by participating in ongoing training and the latest developments in addiction sciences

Educational Requirements:

  • Must hold and maintain a valid CAC I certification in the District of Columbia.
  • An Associate’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of clinical experience, with a specific talent for engaging and supporting adolescent populations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply!
  • Experience with Credible, Netsmart, or other Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a significant plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
