Job Description


The Site Engineer is a proactive and detail-oriented professional responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising on-site construction activities. He will work closely with his immediate superior to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently, within the required timeline, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Site Engineer will also collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and smooth execution of all works.


Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Plan and execute all assignments given by the Assistant Project Manager (APM) according to the required timeline and expected outcomes.


  2. Assist the APM in planning, arranging, coordinating, monitoring, inspecting, and reporting day-to-day activities, including:


    • Reviewing and checking drawings


    • Preparing method statements


    • Preparing daily reports and weekly work programs


    • Preparing other related technical documents


  3. Engage, discuss, present, and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other staff to gather and share information for effective execution of works.


  4. Ensure each assignment is delivered on time and in accordance with company procedures, quality requirements, and safety practices.


  5. Supervise and coordinate daily on-site activities to ensure project progress is in line with approved plans and schedules.


  6. Ensure all construction works comply with safety regulations, legal requirements, and quality standards.


  7. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to safety standards.


  8. Resolve technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions on-site as and when required.


  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, materials usage, manpower, and project progress.


  10. Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, and material requisitions.


  11. Carry out any other related duties or ad-hoc tasks as assigned by his superiors.


Requirements


Education and Qualifications


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or equivalent.


  2. Minimum one (1) year of experience in site supervision and construction management.


  3. Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, plans, and technical documents.


  4. Good understanding of construction methods, materials, safety requirements, and relevant legal regulations.


  5. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


Specific Knowledge and Skills


  1. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick and sound decisions on-site.


  2. Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and guiding site teams.


  3. High level of integrity and a proactive approach in handling challenges and resolving site issues.


  4. Solid technical knowledge and the ability to perform effectively under pressure are essential for success in this role.
