The Cabinetry Shop Helper will work under the direction of the Cabinet Shop Manager. The employee will assist the carpenters and cabinetmakers with certain duties in the shop and on work sites. Additionally, it is also expected that the employee will pick up materials from suppliers, bring them to the Cabinetry Shop or deliver them to job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining cleanliness is in the cabinet shop, warehouse and equipment
  • Ensuring that all cabinets are organized, stocked, labelled
  • Organizing all cabinets coming into to the shop and leaving for job sites.
  • Demonstrating shop safety by following all company policy safety regulations
  • Providing excellent customer service to customers
  • Ensuring that the warehouse space is maximized
  • Building relationships with co-workers
  • Assisting carpenters and cabinetmakers with organizing tools, packing furniture, and other duties as requested
  • Being presentable, displaying good manners and demonstrating respectful behavior to co-workers
  • Following in-house environmental/recycling initiatives
  • Providing, storing, uploading and sending detailed photographs of incoming cabinets by email
  • Measuring, cleaning, wrapping and protecting cabinets and cabinet parts
  • Updating, maintaining and storing the localization list on Google Sheets
  • Delivering and picking up materials and parts to and from suppliers
  • Helping cabinetmakers loading and unload cabinets and other supplies to and from their vehicles
  • Updating inventory when needed
  • Completing your timecard daily
  • The role can expose you in different areas of cabinetry and can be a stepping stone to something greater in the department.

Requirements

  • Must have received a high-school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have good housekeeping and excellent organizational skills
  • Previous warehouse experience is considered an asset
  • Previous experience with power and hand tools is considered an asset
  • Any carpenter, cabinetmaker, or millworker experience is considered an asset
  • Must have at least a valid Class 7 (N) license or Class 5
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check to our approval
  • Customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs
  • Basic computer knowledge, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office, and Google Sheets are considered assets

Compensation

  • Wage: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
