About the role

As a Chocolate Academy Assistant Chef, you will support and contribute to the daily operations, trainings and demonstrations at the Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Turkey. Working closely with the Head of the Chocolate Academy, Technical Advisors, Ambassadors and guest chefs, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality culinary experiences for customers, partners and internal teams. This is a hands‑on role combining culinary preparation, operational support and administrative coordination, ideal for someone passionate about food, pastry and chocolate.



Key responsibilities:

  • Support Technical Advisors, Ambassadors and guest chefs during training sessions, demonstrations and technical activities.
  • Prepare equipment, materials and ingredients for demonstrations and hands‑on courses.
  • Scale ingredients and prepare semi‑finished products (batters, pastries, creams, fillings, etc.).
  • Assist during live trainings and demonstrations at the Chocolate Academy Centre.
  • Manage Chocolate Academy stock of chocolate, food items and ingredients.
  • Prepare market lists and place orders on time.
  • Receive and store goods according to FIFO principles, minimizing waste.
  • Perform month‑end inventory of all pastry kitchen items.
  • Ensure proper labeling, hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
  • Monitor the condition of all Academy equipment and ensure cleaning, sanitation and maintenance after use.
  • Welcome and host guests and customers at the Chocolate Academy Centre.
  • Manage bookings, registrations and requests related to Academy activities.
  • Support calendar management for trainings, demonstrations and customer visits.
  • Prepare documentation for trainings and technical activities (recipe booklets, training materials, translations).
  • Gather product brochures and assemble Academy files.
  • Record and report information related to demonstrations and customer visits.
  • Attend internal trainings to continuously develop culinary and technical skills.
  • Support testing and development of innovative recipes using Barry Callebaut products.
  • Execute agreed training programs within the Chocolate Academy.


About you:

  • Background in the food, pastry or hospitality industry.
  • Strong interest in chocolate, pastry arts and culinary creativity.
  • Positive attitude, high energy and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Well‑organised, detail‑oriented and able to multitask.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a multicultural environment.
  • Shows initiative, creativity and logical thinking.
  • Well‑presented with a professional attitude.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
