Job Description

This is a project-based employee role supporting the initial development phase of our autonomous vehicle platforms. Development phases of this nature typically span up to approximately 24 months, though scope and duration are driven by business needs.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Software Engineer looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity. ASI is one of the fastest-growing robotics companies in the United States, and we're always looking for the best and brightest engineers to join us. As an ASI Software Engineer, you will be participating in d esign, implementation, testing, and maintaining software, to meet client needs and advance robotics technologies. Our software engineers participate in the full life cycle of software development and help determine project architecture and requirements and gain exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of software engineers to add functionality and improve and upgrade Mobius software product applications
  • Write understandable code
  • Ability to code in multiple languages including C#, C/C++
  • Write detailed technical specifications for new features
  • Maintain and extend developer documentation
  • Work with customers (on-site and off-site) to ensure end product meets expectations
  • Write unit-level tests and assist in specifying and creating integration tests
  • Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools
  • Maintains and modifies existing applications without supervision
  • Perform maintenance programming for existing version
  • Perform custom programming at customer request
  • Assume responsibility for ongoing data architecture for product
  • Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
  • Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies
  • Test software development methodology in an agile environment
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

Essential Education, Work Experience, and Job Skills

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2-5 yrs. experience as a software engineer using C# or other related experience
  • Must have experience in:
    • Working in a team environment with an established process
    • Solving problems limited in complexity
    • Unit Tests
    • Version Control
    • Story Estimation
    • Actively Holds Code reviews
  • Experience with complex technical areas such as memory management, profiling and optimization, complex algorithms, and concurrency
  • Understanding of geometry, trigonometry, matrix transforms, and general linear algebra
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies preferred
