Embark on a transformative journey as a C++ Senior OMS/Connectivity Developer – VP. At Barclays, our vision is clear – to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. We are seeking a seasoned C++ engineer to help establish and lead a new development initiative in the Americas supporting our Delta One business. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship, while driving the integration of multiple trading and connectivity use cases into a greenfield platform. This is a high-visibility, front-office engineering role with direct engagement alongside the Delta One desk, offering the opportunity to contribute to one of the region’s few C++-focused, low-latency platform builds.
To be successful as a C++ Senior OMS/Connectivity Developer – VP, you should have experience with:
Low-latency C++ development and the design of high-performance messaging systems using efficient binary protocols and lock-free patterns
Multithreading and concurrency, with good capability in performance tuning and optimization techniques
Building low-latency electronic trading systems, including market connectivity and algorithmic trading within financial markets
Working with SQL and/or kdb+ database technologies in trading or market data environments
Futures trading systems and workflows, with direct exposure strongly preferred
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience working with market data platforms or vendors such as Exegy or Refinitiv
Network latency measurement, analysis, and tuning tools and techniques
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or shell for tooling and automation
Familiarity with market data and trading protocols including ITCH, FAST, and FIX
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in New York, NY.
Minimum Salary: $170,000
Maximum Salary: $230,000
