Job Description

ATC seeks a current Reserve, Air National Guard or retired/separated U.S. military pilots, navigators or weapons systems operators to fill the role of a Subject Matter Expert. Leads and facilitates mission briefings and debriefings as well as evaluates training effectiveness to provide maximum proficiency. SME will apply their operational knowledge of tactics, techniques, procedures, and aircraft capabilities to prepare realistic aircrew training scenarios and lead the execution of MAF Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises.
  • Coordinate with MAF units, external players, exercise directors and Aircrew Training Systems personnel on DMO mission training requirements.
  • Analyze the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers, or simulated wartime operations undertaken to maintain the capabilities of a force.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support DMO events and provide instructor-level expertise to help shape tactical training for participants.
  • Provides mission commander leadership for the execution of DMO training events.
  • Applies emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development.
  • Create and modify mission planning materials to ensure participants achieve maximum training.
  • Prepares reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems. Report issues related to stimulation software applications and provide basic troubleshooting support.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 10 years relevant experience with High School Diploma.
  • Current Rated Aviator.
  • Current or previous C-17, C-5, KC-135 or C-130 experience, preferred within the last 3 years.
  • Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have proven leadership skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and oral.

Preferred Requirements

  • Instructor or Evaluator experience.
  • Experience in planning and executing Large Force Exercise training events.
