Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate for a BYC Site Lead position will provide support to students, staff, and the district in increasing appropriate instructional capacity that allows all students to meet or exceed expected growth each year, graduate from high school, and eliminate predictability in achievement through practices of educational equity. This position will support the building's efforts in creating a culturally competent and racially inclusive learning environment so that all students are successful. Employee will work with Coordinator of ALC, Community Education Department staff, the building principal, and other building staff to implement a coordinated, extended day program including but not limited to staffing processes, enrollment tracking, planning and leading instructional activities, organization of materials, supervision of students, and communication with parents and staff.

Compensation $36.00/ hour

The BYC Site Lead will:

  • Coordinate and lead extended day staff and activities, as well as be responsible for student supervision.
  • Be familiar with Synergy and Google applications.
  • Possess knowledge of and have the ability to design and lead staff in the delivery of enrichment activities for students who need augmented or different approaches to learning, possess a large repertoire of successful teaching strategies and be able to adapt instruction to different learning styles.
  • Actively participate in regular meetings with program leadership.
  • Be able to collect, maintain, and share data on student achievement, have experience with English Language Learners, Special Education students, and students of diverse populations.
  • Be able to develop and coordinate extended day staff and student schedules to best meet the needs of students.
  • Recruit teachers and coordinate staff schedules.
  • Send electronic registration information to the parents of potential students, and maintain student records; ensure enrollment information is up to date.
  • Collect CLP forms and ensure they are up to date. Coordinate with building secretaries to send them to the families (CLP = Continued Learning Plan, mandated by the State).
  • Monitor attendance as needed and communicate with families when needed.
  • Assign and guide High School Mentors within the buildings.
  • Handle any discipline issues that may arise. Use the Behavior contract (signed by students and families) when needed. Involve the building administrative team when needed.
  • Collaborate with Community Education regarding any operational procedures (Busing, schedules, student enrollment, teacher payment, etc).
  • Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Response to Intervention, assessments, and research related to student learning, systems of intervention, and reading / math.
  • Possess knowledge of and have the ability to design and lead staff in the delivery of scientifically based reading and / or math instruction and interventions.
