Job Shift: DayWe are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our admissions team.  As an Admissions RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our patients through review of referrals, insurance benefit verifications, and ability to utilize clinical skills to evaluate newly referred and admitted patients.  Your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will contribute to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
· Review referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community agencies, assessing medical and behavioral acuity and responding within designated timeframes, and ensuring they meet inpatient hospital level of care.
· Respond to inquiries about our facility, providing appropriate recommendations and information.
· Perform insurance benefit verifications and secure initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
· Help facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities.
· Review medical documentation for all admissions, including past medical history and current medications.
· Conduct assessments of referrals to determine the appropriate level of care within our facility based on diagnosis, current acuity, age (adolescent or adult), and bed availability.
· Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
· May help facilitate the admissions process, including nursing assessment and initial consent forms.
· Utilize web-based programs to track and review referrals.
· Communicate projected admissions promptly to designated internal representatives.
· Ensure timely receipt of all clinical information, including medical comorbidity, from referral sources or patients.
· Prepare and maintain accurate medical record documentation to facilitate payor authorization at the requested level of care.
· Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission within payor timeframe guidelines.
· Admit patients to the registration and electronic health record systems
· Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, prioritizing their safety and promptly addressing concerns or complaints.
· Positive and professional communication with referents and internal staff and organization.

QualificationsEducation- Associates degree or higher in nursing.
Certification/ Licenses- Current/Active RN License in Massachusetts, CPR and de-escalation/restraint training (available upon hire and offered by the facility)
Minimum one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the relevant behavioral health knowledge.
Previous experience in behavioral health intake capacity preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
