Summary of Position:

The Assistant K-12 Principal leads the design, quality, and continuous improvement of curriculum and course experience across Brandywine Virtual Academy's full K-12 program. This role co-leads professional learning initiatives, owns the course design and learning experience, and directs BVA's assessment strategy and accreditation processes. The position manages relationships with curriculum and technology vendors, district partners, and instructional design consultants, and supports the Principal in teacher observation, supervision, and instructional feedback. The role works in close, ongoing partnership with all BVA teams and relevant CCIU departments to ensure a coherent, engaging, accessible, and standards-aligned learning program from kindergarten through grade 12. Please note, this is NOT a remote role. This position reports in-person each day to our Downingtown location.

Essential Duties and Program/Budget Responsibilities:

• Directly manage a $1.5M curriculum and instructional design budget, including procurement, contracts, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
• Lead the K�12 curriculum vision, mapping, standards alignment, adoption cycles, and development of a coherent K�12 learning progression.
• Oversee course design and learning experiences, including structure, pacing, navigation, accessibility, usability, and online instructional best practices.
• Direct Online Learning Specialists, instructional design consultants, and contracted curriculum staff through goal-setting, coaching, deliverables, and performance management.
• Lead curriculum quality and continuous improvement using student performance, engagement, learning analytics, and stakeholder feedback.
• Develop and facilitate professional learning, coaching, and PLCs focused on curriculum, UDL, online pedagogy, instructional technology, accessibility, assessment, and instructional quality.
• Manage curriculum and instructional design vendors, including relationships, contracts, performance, training, renewals, and transitions.
• Develop and oversee the K�12 assessment strategy, ensuring alignment to curriculum and standards and compliance with state assessment requirements.
• Manage BVA accreditation processes, including documentation, self-study, evidence collection, compliance, accrediting-body communication, and site visits.
• Serve as the curriculum and course design lead for internal teams and district partners, coordinating course offerings, customization, alignment, communication, and partnership requirements.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Valid Pennsylvania Principal Pk-12 Certification
• Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum, or related field
• Minimum 6 years of teaching experience
• Demonstrated expertise in virtual learning pedagogy, online course design, and the digital platforms and learning management systems used to deliver K-12 instruction.
• Deep knowledge of instructional technology tools, adaptive learning platforms, and learning analytics systems, with the ability to evaluate and integrate new digital solutions into curriculum and course design.
• Strong grasp of accessibility and Universal Design for Learning principles as applied to digital course content, along with fluency in emerging trends in virtual and blended learning.

Salary Range:

Administrator, Level G

$105,320- $131,650 annually

• Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role.

260 day position, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
