Position: Yard Laborer

Division: Recycling

Status: Full Time/Hourly Position

The Buyroom operator position will be responsible for purchasing scrap from walk-in customers.

REPORTS TO: District Manager Recycling Division

SUPERVISES: N/A

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting customers.
• Unloading customer’s items.
• Identifying materials (prepared and unprepared).
• Purchasing items at correct price.
• Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position.
• Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma preferred but not required.

• Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Physical Requirements: Exerting up to one hundred (100) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to fifty (50) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Visual Acuity: ability to operate machinery and determine the accuracy, neatness, and

thoroughness of the work assigned including making general observations of facilities.
