We are seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our Procurement team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement and IT, this position procures and negotiates materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services that meet SONIFI’s standards. The role also supports purchasing and inventory maintenance to help the company achieve its goals and budget.

What you’ll do

• Process quotes, create purchase orders for bill-of-material parts, new licenses, and renewals, and handle requisitions for shipments to installation sites and field service
• Register equipment according to SONIFI processes, including Nomadix gateways and servers, networking equipment, and licensing
• Understand product and business pricing and discounts, negotiate pricing, source components and hardware, and identify suppliers that meet price, quantity, quality, and delivery requirements
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain purchasing processes that support maximum inventory turns, minimum inventory levels, product availability, accurate inventory management, and cost-effective procurement
• Provide procurement support across company departments, track and report cost savings, and work with suppliers to address defective or excess products
• Partner with Sales, Implementations, Network Engineering, and other business leaders to maintain supplier forecasts and expedite open orders to meet required delivery dates
• Manage open orders, returns to vendors, warranty repairs, slow-moving materials, and minimum and maximum planning reports, while working with Warehouse, Accounting, and suppliers to resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• An associate degree and at least three years of experience in electronics purchasing, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Technical aptitude
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical teams
• Ability to build strong relationships with external partners and balance multiple priorities as a highly motivated self-starter
• Strong attention to detail, patience, diligence, logical thinking, creative problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to completing tasks and maintaining high standards of work behavior

Preferred:

• Experience in enterprise-grade network procurement or purchasing
• Knowledge and experience using enterprise applications such as Microsoft, Salesforce, and NetSuite
