Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Buyer/Planner must have a strong understanding of the production process, purchased material, components and services in order to generate and maintain effective daily and weekly schedules. They manage inventory levels, support material/production revisions, interact with suppliers on a variety of topics, and seek to improve material scheduling to help fulfil or surpass company expectations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize the production schedule by placing purchase orders with suppliers on a daily and weekly basis and make sure that materials are available to meet scheduled dates.
Work hand-in-hand with other employees to make sure that all issues that are related to purchasing and scheduling are properly handled and resolved.
Rectify and/or reconcile differences and inaccuracies that have to do with shipment to customers, delivery of materials and/or services and handle exceptions.
Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems.
Maintain the reporting systems to make sure that all forms of documentation are accurate and timely.
Function as the ‘link person’ or middle person amongst customer account specialists, supervisors, and vendors.
Manage inter-company flow of materials between warehouse locations and/or through the manufacturing process.
Establish and implement Min Lot levels to mitigate stock out and/or expediting costs while optimizing inventory days on hand.
Resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
Ensure and promote compliance to company and procurement policies and procedures.
Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned.
This position is onsite 5 days at the Auburn, IN facility

Qualifications
4 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business or APICS certification with a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in similar role is preferred.
Proficiency in integrated MRP with advanced planning or similar ERP tools required. Syteline experience a plus.
Lean tools certified PFEP, VSM, etc. is preferred.
