
Buyer/Planner - 1 Year Contract
Reporting to the Manager – Procurement, the Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchase material requirements planning, purchase order & supplier relationship management.
Shifts
Must have flexibility to work rotating shifts to accommodate production schedule, including days, afternoons, nights and overtime as required.

Responsibilities
Prepares, issues, and administers all Purchase Orders for selected suppliers
Monitors and expedites purchased materials to ensure timely delivery of product to support customer requirements. Reviews alternative supplier options, revisions to support production.
Reports daily on critical items required for production.
Timely escalation of critical items not supporting and industry wide challenges.
Communicates critical items with Production Planning and Co-ordinating team.
Applies advanced planning and forecasting skills to ensure future on time deliveries.
Analyzes material requirements and/or Kanban levels for purchased parts to achieve optimum material flow.
Monitors and expedites materials to ensure material flow to support production requirements and sales orders.
Establishes order parameters to optimize inventory levels to improve flow.
Develops and manages effective relationships with internal departments. i.e. engineering, marketing, customer service, manufacturing, accounting, planning/materials, and quality.
Maintains strong working relationships with suppliers.
Maintains Material Requirements Planning (MRP) order parameters on assigned parts (i.e. lead time, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), Multiples, Contact info etc.) in MHICA system.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization,
Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities,
Familiarity with ERP systems – Syspro preferred,

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to review and relate Engineering Drawings and Specifications is an asset.
Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Experience
Minimum 5+ years’ prior experience as a Buyer / Planner, or other Supply Chain Management function,
Aerospace experience is an asset.
Education
Degree or Diploma in business or related program,
In lieu of degree/diploma, 10+ years of related experience.
